Rituals...

Flowers are just a colourful creation of nature. But what's the truly meaning behind the red St.Valentine's antem?
Since ancients times human been relates itself with different objects in the attemp to personalise his feelings. Depending on the time, race and location this objects and its meaning may vary. In our time many ritual play an important roll in every human been stage of life, and to make this more clear I will use something as simple as flowers. In the early life, when boy and girls are young and discovering the world the reprent their love throu flowers when they give them to the loved person. Later on, in a more mature and very long relationship the represnt forgiveness and happiness. When a girl is pregnant they mean congratulations. In a rock concert they mean glory, in a church they are praise. When somebody dies they are memory, on the grave they are a memory reminder, and finally on a regular day they simple are items to colour the environment. The ritual appears when we personified this objects into real feelings and finally be able to give them where they belong. If I love you I will give you a rose in wich I deposite my love for you to have. Wich in relation with your last post makes me think.... appart from the obvious complexity of the mind that we have the need to give our feelings away, to actually materialise every sensation  to understand better and be undertood... tell me what do u think, thinking about the interesting theory u told me... aren't these ritual the same escense as the mirror and our image?

I love you bby!

  1. i think the idea of personifying things in order to express emotions is becasue there is a huge gap in the capability of language. For example the idea of a valentine, love is an inexplicable emotion, it is difficult to express the true intensity of the feeling of being in love the emotional, the physical everything that goes with it, language fails us in many ways when it comes to expressing these things so we personify objects and things in an attempt to bridge the gap left by language, by coupling items and language we are attempting to express ourselves fully but in my opinion there is still alot left unsaid and unexpressed becasue it really possible to express our true feelings and the extent to which we feel them? i dont think so but we can continue trying through language and through these rituals.
